Hi Lester and Sherry--can't help you with the polishing question, but I would be interested in purchasing your Barth if you are ever interested in selling. Have wanted a C Barth for a while and they are scarce! Keep me in mind--Charlie Trueland/chartrue2@aol.com

I assume he used a rotary polisher? These are known as swirl marks. They can be removed by using a 600 grit equivalent polishing compound and a slow speed polisher. If you go to a body shop that does normal paint jobs they can repolish and solve the problem. Good meaning workers use variable speed 10 - 12 inch polish bonnets. You have to use clean cotton pads (not the foam type) and stay slower than about 80 rpm.

Nuvite aluminum polish, Grade F-9, applied with random-orbit buffing machine & 3/4" twisted wool pads, will
repair surface and eliminate swirl marks. Nuvite products chemically & mechanically remove oxides and
re-form the surface without loss of base material, i.e.: you will never decrease thickness of base stock, no
matter how many times you polish......FMI: www.perfectpolish.com
