I plan to put up a couple of heat shields between the exhaust pipes and the fuel lines to try to get rid of the on-going vapor lock problem. I figured on using galvanized steel flashing, attaching it to the steel frame with small nut-bolt attachment, drilling through the frame. What metal should I use for the nut-bolt combination so electrolosis is minimized? 79 Barth Classic

Since you are already using zinc plated metal, zinc plated fasteners would be good. To further combat corrosion, force a little vaseline into the bolt hole first. Afterwards, shoot a little LPS-3 on anything that might corrode. It goes on thin and sets up to a sort of wax. Motorcycle chain lube does a good job, too, but is messy to remove for any work. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

Or spray it with this:http://www.zrcworldwide.com/p_galvilite.asp Applied to the aluminum skin and the steel framing before riveting it prevents electrolysis. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny
