With all the innovations that Barth is noted for, I was very surprised that the Breakaway had no provisions for sewer hose storage! I don't like handling that thing or getting it into one of the storage bays and moving it around all the time trying to find a suitable place for it.

During re-plumbing of the waste tanks I thought that if I change the positions of the valve handles and made a bin in that area, it would be perfect for hose storage.

Got busy this weekend and fabricated an aluminum bin that is now attached to the large storage bin just ahead of the access door for the tank dump to the black tank at the rear of the access door. It goes all the way to the first frame member. It is about 27 inches deep by 36 inches long.

Perfect storage for the hose as this where I go to dump that is where the 2 hoses (long and short + slinky) now reside, happy camper!!

Our '94 Breakaway with front entry has a pvc storage tube for the sewer hose inside the propane tank storage bin. It is parallel with exterior body panel and just inside of it..maybe 48" long..easily holds 20ft. sewer hose with drain holes to get rid of the last of rinse water. Looks like a factory install.

Our 84 is like that, too. Had a thick wall ABS pipe. I went to a thinner wall irrigation tube so I could slide the stinky slinky in with the end attached.

I had a tube on my SOB and was looking for it on the Barth, nothing there, that is why I made the bin. I am planning on revising the bin a bit later after the summer's trips are finished.

I guess this is another difference between the side entrance and front entrance.

I got tired of the tight fit in the irrigation tubing, so have bought a length of 5 inch square white PVC hollow fence post material. This will allow the hose with a 45 degree clear fitting to slide in and out.
