Jim and Terenon-ethanol fuel
Almost anywhere we go, we can find non ethanol fuel for about $.30/gal extra. I understand the problems with deteriorating rubber components with 10% ethanol. Are these effects offset if you add ethanol fuel conditioner each time you fill up? I have also 'heard' that non-ethanol fuel gets slightly better fuel economy. Any truth in that?

Yup. It takes a lot more alcohol than gasoline to make your engine go bang. When I a ran a MC on methanol, it took over twice as much fuel for the same number of laps around the same track.
A mixture of gasoline and alcohol like E10 has shown about a 5% loss in mileage the few times I have been able to do a fair test.
