Hi folks: My heater control cable is frayed and I am looking for a replacement. The dash slider unit looks like a GM but the Barth information does not identify it. Has anyone replaced this cable and found out a part number? Rusty, does yours have push buttons with a slider on the top and a vertical fan speed lever on the right side? If so, would you have anything that identifies it by model or number and year? That sounds lke a typical Chrysler panel. I've got the same. If your problem is the wire that controls the hot water flow, I replaced mine with a generic from the auto parts store.

That sounds like it - for vent only (no A/C) one pushes then pulls out the A/C button. I don't have any info on it, but it does sound like the cable would be easy to replace by measuring the length or taking it to a parts store. Here is an update on the cable - there are no suitable aftermarket cables and the local Chrysler dealers could not trace a good number. I found a web vendor who replaced the inner cable in my original housing. He is at http://www.rayeveritt.com If you need a cable check this out. My 94 Regency with the 300 Cummins has a Chrysler push button unit that is interchangeable with mid to late 80's Dodge P/u trucks. Try your local junk yard and you'll see what I mean. They should have a cable since most "pullers" are looking for the push button assembly. Frank Strong 1994 Regency 34ft 300 HP Cummins, 6 spd Allison Spartan MM Chassis
