MC Barther3-Way Refrigerator not operating
Need some advice concerning my RV, 3-way, refrigerator. I turned it on. Everything acted normal. Only, it never chilled. Light stayed on as if it were working. Any ideas? (BTW, this is the original 1984 unit and yes I am really hoping that it is something simple).

GunnerIf it's on "electric" switch to "gas" and see what happens (and
vice versa)

Sloop John BWhen I got my 1987 28' Regal the first time I fired up the refg. it would only work on propane, now it will work on all three, I'am not complaining.

Sloop John BWhen you get old your equipment must get newer. Not 1987 but 1986.

RustyIndeed, try it on propane before giving up on it - sometimes the fluid coagulates after setting unused for a long time, and the electric heater doesn't put out enough heat to dislodge it.
Also note that many reefers (Dometic especially) have to be nearly level to work. The Dometic in my SOB wouldn't work at all if the coach was even the slightest bit nose-down, The Norcold in the Barth is far less picky

MC BartherI just wanted to share this RV refrigerator web site with y'all.
http://www.rvrefrigerator.net/There is a nice diagnostics page at that site, too. I'm still working on the problem with my unit.
However, it was nice to know that a replacement cooling system could be purchased for $400-$500 VS $1200 to $1400 for a new unit. I wanted to share the info.
