We sort of started this with Steve in Barth Journeys but thought I would continue it over here. Steve, when you got the Summit 'HEI upgrade', was it the cap and rotor, incl coil or the whole distributor? I think our distributor may be the original one in the Barth. How would one know?

It is a complete drop in unit. Unfortunately mine just failed, not sure why yet. It worked great until Monday. I'll look at it closely in the next few days, let you know.

AFAIK, our distributor is the one that came with the Barth. A few years ago, it melted a hole in the top of the cap, fortunately near a shop. Our cap and rotor and coil are now made by Accel, bought from Summit. The coil is 48000 volts, however we have a Nology Power Core Ignition Coil Amplifier plugged into it that is supposed to bump up the coil to 72000 volts. I usually get between 9 and 10 mpg but drive conservatively at 55/60 mph. I'm thinking about upgrading the whole system and am starting to see what's out there now.
