Almost posted this under another thread but thought I'd open a new one. I change my own oil and filter and know enough to oil up the ring and tighten hand tight [firmly], but I always have a leak that comes from the oil filter. I've checked the surface and can't feel anything but smooth. Running stock manifolds and pretty much everything else. Any ideas?

Have you tried a little tighter? Are you sure it is coming from the filter to filter base joint? What brand filter do you use?

When I am chasing a leak, I clean everything eating clean, then run it, then use Kleenex to check for fresh oil. My fingers and eyes have lied to me.
