Has anyone removed, had repaired or replaced one of the RV central air units on a Monarch. Mine quit working yesterday.

Great… just in time for summer! AC? What's that for? We had frost (again!) last night. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Just did it on my Regency. If you get a new Dometic Brisk II you have to get a 12v dedicated source to the hole in the roof to operate the new ones. That is a bitch! And I don't think the repair shops will be as careful with cabinets and ceilings as we are. I decided after the job that if I had it to do over I would find a repair shop and have the original rebuilt. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny

The central ac did not work in our breakaway. Yanked it out and put on a self contained roof air. These do not need wall mounted therostats. The hole I used had a fantastic fan it so had a 12vdc line running to the hole. Found the wiring behind the refrigerator and disconnected and then hooked up 120vac to the same wires. The dc wires were 12 gauge, so heavy enough to carry the current required for the ac. So was an easy change. '92 Barth Breakaway - 30' 5.9 Cummins (6B) 300+ HP 2000 Allison Front entrance

Thanks for the tips. I thought about roof units but the would have to tear up the wooden ceiling. I have an AC company coming over to look at the unit in the morning. Not sure what the problem is yet but they say they can fix what ever it is.

Got the AC fixed. Turned out to be a bad wire. While I had it out I cleaned the coils and repainted the frame it sits on. It turned out to be an easy job to remove and replace. I am still going to add a roof air as a back-up but the central air is working better than it did before. I think the cleaning of the coils made that difference.

Think twice about xutting holes inyour roof. You will always have leaks and they are haard to find. I'd avoid holes at all costs. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny
