There have been several Ford 460 coaches . What trans would you expect to find in these? Ford 4 speed ? The most rescent is a 97. How do these set up compare with a allison/454.

Ford 4 speed is an overdrive transmission with a lock up torque convertor and the allison 54? is a direct drive transmission.

Sorry for the confusion. I did not know what trans would be matched to a ford engine. I noted the 460 in Pa has an allison . the one in Tx does not mention what trans is used. I just guessed it might be a ford as allison was part of GM most of the time.
