The transmission oil cooler may also be contributing to the "oil Sheen" found in the antifreeze. I was hoping this would be less money than the crank case oil cooler. The best price I have found is just over $1600. There are four available on eBay.

The oil coolers are commonly referred to as "Fixed Bundle" or "Tube" oil coolers. The 1105A is nearly the same as the 1234A.

I found this interactive catalog from a bus parts company that lists the cooler as used on 3208t Blue Bird and Gillig buses. Both these companies were chassis similar to Barth. I use a Hayden transmission oil cooler. I was on the Barth when we purchased it back in 06. Had some heating problems with the 542 in the hills not no problem with the allison 2000 and the lockup torque converter.

Gary, would that be air over oil or coolant over oil? I have both on my Barth. I am working on the coolant over transmission oil cooler.

Good link Tom. The one I noticed in the picture has coolant outlets on one end. Mine is a heat exchanger that the coolant flows all the way thru from end to end.

yours looks the same as mine. I got mine from an outfit called Rocore in Burkesville KY. I paid 936 plus 20 processing fee plus 53 for freight. $1009 total. part # was 3-1105A but this was june of 2015. Hope that helps.

Jerry, would you please elaborate on what circumstances led up to changing the oil cooler in your Barth?

Jerry, did you install the transmission cooler yourself?

The haden oil cooler looks like a small radiator. Oil lines in & out. Simple.

I was constantly loosing a little coolant and could not see where. turned out it was not the problem. I had a heater hose connection buried under the bedroom floor that was leaking. Could not beleive they put a hose connection in such an in accessable place. I changed that hose routing so one can see the connections.

No I did not do it. Had a local truck shop that had used do it.
