Does anyone know at what voltage level the low voltage alarm is set to alarm? I am trying to set my auto generator start to a voltage just above that. Lance & Sue Walton Previous owner of a 1993 38ft Regency Cummins 6CTA8.3 300HP Allison MD3060 Transmission Spartan Chassis Loveland, CO

I think you'te going to have to test it empirically. My inverters complain and shut down before the alarm triggers. Once again, all Barths seem to be different. On my Breakaway, the generator is started with the chassis batteries, so if my house batteries are down and out, I can still start the generator. Sounds like yours is different and the generator starts off the house batteries. My Xantrex inverter will operate to about 10.5 volts but I try to start everything (main diesel or generator) before the house batteries get below 11.5 volts. Kevin, on my Breakaway, there is a momentary switch you can push that connects the house and chassis batteries for emergency starts. Located left dashboard. I have a switch above the door labeled Low Voltage Alarm but have only assumed that it would alarm and further drain the battery. Tom Taylor

My genset starts off the engine battery (but the Honda also provides for a separate battery). The paralleling switch (momentary-on) is usually marked with a red inset. While on our last trip the low battery alarm went off so I used a meter to measure the voltage and it was 10.5 volts. I have previously installed a Magnum Auto Generator start but have not used it other than to use the test function. During the trip our batteries drained down a few times but the AGS did not function. I realized that my sensing voltage was not from the house batteries but from the chassis batteries. I then ran a new sense feed from where the large cable from the house batteries connects to the generator starter motor. When the batteries drained again the AGS tried to function but shut off immediately after the generator starter motor clicked on. Apparently the voltage at that point drops significantly when the starter motor is engaged. My next move will be to run a separate feed from the house batteries to the AGS controller. I hope that works. Lance & Sue Walton Previous owner of a 1993 38ft Regency Cummins 6CTA8.3 300HP Allison MD3060 Transmission Spartan Chassis Loveland, CO

I have 2 voltmeters. The one on the dash is connected to the coach battery and above the door to the chassis battery. '92 Barth Breakaway - 30' 5.9 Cummins (6B) 300+ HP 2000 Allison Front entrance
