My 77 P30 hand brake has not worked since I bought it. I looked under it and found the hand brake cables running to the rear axle and just hanging there, with nothing to hook them up to. The brakes all looked fairly new and worked fine other wise. Well I finally decided to remove the drums and see what I got. It looks like someone replaced the brakes years ago and just left the hand brake mechanism off, or the axle has been replaced with one off a later trans brake unit. However it came to be I need to figure out what parts I need to get the park brake working. Does anyone know of a site that gives the parts break down for the rear brakes on a 77 P30? Or a place that would sell the parts used?
Neil

WELL NEIL,

to me it looks like ur standard brake drum. just alittle bigger in size but the parts are all called the same. here is a link that i hope will help you to figure things out. always remember, you cant mess things up as long as you take apart one side of the axle at a time. cuz u can always compare the otherside as to how the part goes on. and always
use the proper tools for they will save you time. brake tools are pretty cheap. here is the link of a standard drum brake setup with e-brake.

also here is a link to a place that has 77 p30
brake drum parts along with e-brake parts.

i am sure you can get your parts at many other
auto parts place, such as napa or auto zone
