The heater fan motor has failed in the Regal. The entire heat/cool system is essentially a mess. I have the cable control for the water valve but the vacuum system is a mess and now the blower motor is dead. I looked in the archives but didn't find much.

Has anyone replaced these motors yet? I believe the HVAC system was an aftermarket ARA system. I'm going to bypass the control panel and set up my own vacuum/vent control system soon but I need a new motor.

It was 8 below the other day... no Barth work for a while. When I get the old one out maybe I can find some identification.

Steve, I did replace blower motor in the Breakaway. Had I known how easy it would be, I'd have done it before going to CA and back in 2011. There bearings were GONE, which meant no dash air on the Summer trip.
There should be some discussion about from two years ago.
On the Breakaway, access was gained by removing a map pocket in front of the copilot seat (as I learned from one of the other members). The plywood dash opening turned out to be a little to small to get the fan motor through. So, I had to enlarge it a little (along the bottom) with a saw.
The motor had numbers on it and, to my amazement, was available at local auto parts store for a modest price.
As for the control panel, new, rebuilt and used Chrysler product units are available. Not only do the seals and tubing go bad, the mounting ears break easily. My notes indicate they were only $93 from Acme Air in June 2011.

Excellent advice. I have seen the Chrysler units available but as you said, the mounting ears are flimsy.

I am considering ganging the vents into 3 groups (heat, panel, defrost) and using a manual valve to control vacuum to each leg. I have cable control for the water valve already, a simple push pull cable would work fine there.

I will have to get a closer look at the motor. Hopefully I can find an easy replacement as you did. Thanks Thumbs Up

Opps! At the GTG I should not have mentioned the blower motor bearings went out in mine to you.
Guess I was standing too close to your Regal and it must have over heard us talking.
Just another project to work on when the weather gets better or when you drive back to Florida. Smiler

Yeah, but I want to have heat when I go back to Florida! I'll have to fix it before then. head bang

Same thing with the new Thorley headers... will my soup can patch last all the way back to florida so I can change them in the warm sunny keys???

I'm not sure if the Regal is as easy as the Regency or Breakaway, I hope so.
