So since I picked up D-Barth the inverter has never worked. It was put down the list because of cost and the assumption it would need replacing. It would do some really weird stuff. My instincts said trace and unhook and re hook everything. I assumed the issues were on the 12 volt side. After replacing the combiner box from the solar panels after it shattered I decided to do some tracing of wires. So enough screwing around trace everything and figure it out. Of course I went from the solar to the batteries to the inverter and back to the breaker box. So you know hat I found. One size 14 wire backfeeding the inverter and nothing feeding the input side. So using common sense and checking the book to make sure I knew what I was doing. I rewired the right way and started turning things on assuming the system had been fried. Everything is working now. So what does this get me! 110 without being plugged in or generator instantly because of the transfer switch built in to the inverter! Better charger that built into the inverter runs automatically when plugged in or running the generator. I should have trusted my instincts and this would have been fixed along time ago! Thrust your instincts!!! That's a great point. When we took our Barth to our first GTG in D.C. Bill_NY showed us that just because it doesn't work when you flip the switch doesn't mean it needs replacing, start with a little thinking.
