I didn't like the heat situation, so I used 90 deg bends to rout the exhaust out ahead of the drive wheel on each side. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

The kit comes with metal heat shields. see pdf: http://static.summitracing.com...ons/fip-rrin2080.pdf I may have mine around (I have single exhaust well forward of rear axle) 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

My setup (seen above) came with the coach. Well, actually the original was dual exhaust out the back. The PO changed to Thorley headers, single muffler and single exhaust. Then I added the second muffler, now much more quiet. Slightly better performance with dual side pipes but you will have exhaust near the entry door if you have side door. I like mine on the driver side only. You do get stink in the cab if you leave the windows open in the rear on that side. You may need to get a pipe made for the change. You need a 90 bend but I think it also drops down lower to clear the side? The side pipes will reduce heat all the way back, less chance of vapor lock, etc. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

None so far. Lots of vehicles, including MHs, use side dumps. There might even be a little more top end power, due to the removal of the bendy, longer tailpipes back there.
That's what I did. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

Our 85 Regal has the Thorley setup and both pipes dumping into one large muffler and a 90 degree bend with one pipe coming out in front of the drivers side rear wheels. Works well. We also have a 192" wheelbase so the pipe is over a foot away from the rear wheels.

Can you have both pipes go into a muffler that has a two pipe inlet and a one pipe outlet? Simplifies things.

That would be less simple than one on each side. I doubt that the unequal lengths would show up in RV driving. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

There is nothing wrong with that, but it involves a pipe crossing over and a new muffler. If there is already one good muffler on each side, an exhaust on each side is simple and economical. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered
