~Mac~Flexible Propane Lines
I realize this subject has been discussed in the past.
As of today I have replaced 4 of 4 flexible, reinforced (wire mesh), rubber, cloth covered propane lines.
2 were the victim of *rubbing*, where the lines passed thru the frame or were attached by a form of "clamp" or "holder" ...even wire-ties can rub-thru these lines after many years of vibration.
The other 2 must have just deteriorated after 25+ years of interaction with the environment.
A $25 gas detector from Home Depot helped to locate the problems.
4 Lines:
3 Foot
5 Foot
6 Foot
16 Foot
...the propane shop reused the ends of each length at a total cost of about $200.00.
Just had my propane fired Honda EV-6010 rebuilt and now all propane systems (genny, fridge, furnaces, stove, water heater) are safely back-on-line.
Just a heads-up to inspect or preventatively replace your flexible propane lines.
