My Barth has air powered windshield wiper motors. The air valves have begun to leak and act funny. Is there a repair kit for the valves or must I replace the whole unit?

Also where can I get information on air powered windshield washer operation. I can hear the air charging the system when I press the air switch, but no water comes out.

Len,
Sure wish someone would reply to your question. My Barth also has air powered wipers. So far I dont have any problem with the wipers but do with the windshield washer. I can put fluid in the container and if I go to use it I find it empty. Still don't know where the fluid goes.
I have been thinking of changing the whole thing over to electric wipers & washer.

My friend Greg Gajcak handles air powered wiper motors for high end boats. I am not sure about repair kits but here is his email address: ggajcak@nauticalsupply.com

When you say air powered are you referring to vacuum pressure? My Regency came with vacuum pressure wipers, but they never worked very well and the original took the coach back to Barth and had them install electric wipers. They work well, but could use a bit more pressure on the wiper blade against the window.

Bill.

My Barth is a 1985 8.2 Detroit. I'll have to check. I do think they run off the airline. Like I said they are working fine now it's the washer unit thats crazy. Each wiper has its own control and they can be set to run very very slow or fast by just turning the knob control.
