Just an Opinion, but a fully functional HEI Distributor is probably as good as it gets without an electronic system.!

Finally got around to rebuilding the quadrajet. Soaked for about three days in pine sol and water 50/50 came out looking brand new. Ordered the rebuild kit from quadrajetpower.com came with everything I guess.
I added new bushings, new acc pump, new needle and seat, new float, ect, ect. Oh and an electric choke conversion and taped the apt hole so I can adjust the apt screw, what ever that is. Fired right up and ran great in the driveway but then it did that before the rebuild..... So can't wait to try it out on a good hill and see if it still backfires in the manifold. I still need to check the fuel pressure.
