Last weekend, I replaced my 2 roof airs. The old ones (15 years old) still worked fine but I put a pencil to it and by selling the old units on craigslist, it made the replacement less painful. This weekend, we had about 3 inches of hard rain. I went out in the Barth to be sure it wasn't leaking to bad. Lo and behold, it was dry! I had been planning on recoating the roof due to leaks. I had leaks around each AC unit, one leak in the upper storage on the right rear, leaks in the upper storages behind driver and copilot and a leak around the TV antenna. After replacing the AC units (and new gaskets) my leaks disappeared. I remembered trying to figure out where the leaks were coming but I couldn't find anything uptop that looked like a source. This is a lesson that AC gasket leaks can travel! K&E

It could have been your roof gaskets, but I'll caution others that even small cracks in the cover can let water pool up in the AC unit and then leak inside. New AC units mean you get new covers, so it is possible it might not have been the gaskets unless you thoroughly inspected the covers. Those thermo-plastic covers will age with UV exposure and usually start cracking around the four mounting screws on a Dometic anyway. For others, check those first. My front AC was dripping a little on the way back from Death Valley, and when I got home tore the inner cover off and found the mounting bolts were not even finger tight. Tightened them up to the specs, and no more leaks.
