My latest issue is an oil leak underneath towards the end of the engine. Not sure what the part is but I believe it is an oil pumping unit. Discovered the leaking just after we returned from a 100 mile trip today. It actually makes a puddle in my driveway. The oil appears to be black even though I just had oil changed. I plan on coming to Milford but I am little bit afraid to drive it about 400 miles in this condition. Any idea what it could be?

Which end? Diesels will blacken oil after only a few miles, so that's not a concern - it's a sign the oil's working.

It is actually the front of the engine. Next to the oil pan is a round cylinder looking device that has a large rubber hose attached to it. That part is covered in oil so I believe that is where it's coming from.

Did some checking. Believe now the part leaking is the engine oil cooler. It is so covered with oil that it drips. Is there an easy solution here or am I looking at a huge repair?

How much oil does the engine leak? A small puddle in the driveway is not a lot of oil. It just looks like a lot. Make sure that the leak isn't coming from the oil filter or oil pan that could get worse quickly.

IIRC the oil filter is located very close to the in block oil cooler that you say is covered with oil. Where is you engine crankcase breather located? That will also be a source of leaks and over time it will cover a lot of the lower parts of the engine.

Of course if you can, clean all the oil covered parts and run it again, it will be difficult as it sounds like it is a small leak.

Check the bolt torque of the pan bolts and the oil cooler, don't over tighten but just check to make sure none are loose.
