It's been said before, but this sway bar is really stout, easy to install (about 1 hour) and makes a big difference on windy days. I highly recommend it. Added bonus: the kit includes brackets and stiffer bushings for the rear bar as well. Haven't had a chance to install those yet.

I ordered the Hellwig kit from Michigan Truck Spring of Saginaw (Truckspring.com) 989-755-0561
price $290 plus shipping
I also bought front air bags and rear air springs from them a while back. No problems, quick shipping, good phone service.

I'm curious if the bolt pattern on your new brackets matched up exactly with the chassis holes. I ask because I replaced mine a few months ago and the front and rear brackets both had a 1/4 inch difference. My old brackets were 3" center to center in the front and 3.25" in the back. The brackets that came were 3.25" for the front and 3.5" for the back. Hellwig told me according to them I had the correct brackets, but I measured the bolt pattern on my dad's 1978 chassis and they were the same as mine. I made it work by squeezing the brackets with a vice while I installed them, but I haven't heard of anybody else having this issue.

Andrew: I measured my brackets, they are 3.25 front and 3.5 rear and they matched the holes perfectly. My Barth is an 86, maybe the earlier ones had different bolt spacing?

Cguy: the Hellwig bar is 1 5/8 so those would fit. I don't know if brackets/bushings are sold separately but they would work. Check with factory or a supplier I guess.
