Inverter/charger
Well, my Zantrex Rs3000 bit the dust! It had ben doing some rather strange things the last months but now it will not recognize the presence of AC power. The inverter will still operate but the charger will not, further, the unit will not pass AC thru when connected to shore power or generator power.

Zantrex tech support for the older units is non-existent!!

Will be ordering a Magnum 2812 unit and installing as soon as I get it. Guys there (Magnum) were helpful compared to previous discussions with inverter people.

Let you all know how it goes in the next few days.

Ed, I have about the same, mine got acting crazy, talked a tech here, he wanted to replace it. Later I called xantrex support. The tech gave me a sequence to reprogram. He said to shut it down for one hour and do a certain sequence and mine has been working great since then.
Sorry I can not remember what was done.
Hoping you and Jane are doing great.
Hope to see you all soon.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Zantrex RS3000 is out and will receive the Magnum 2812 tomorrow if UPS is on time. UPS has been very late on a lot of stuff these Holiday days.

Should be only an hour or so to get the Magnum mounted and wired. From all reviews and with the tech support I have gotten so far, should be a good choice.

Pictures coming

I did ours a little different. I use a marine charger that will charge up to 3 battery banks. I use a stand alone 2500 watt pure sine wave inverter.

For those of you putting a household refreg in you Barth you really need a pure sine wave inverter as it will use about 25% less electricity.

I Installed the Magnum 2812 last year, and make sure to buy the ARC-50 and the BMK with Shunt.

Also, Make sure to install a sub panel on the AC output of the Inverter, and that means that you will be moving AC circuits from your main panel to the sub-panel.

I also bought 4 6V 220 amp Lifeline Batteries and wired them in series/Parallel. Including to use 3/0 wire for all battery connections, with HD Swedged Crimp-on connectors.

I did install the Auto Gen Start, and the Smart Battery Charger to Isolate and Charge my Chassis batteries when the coach is plugged in to house AC power.

If you have any questions, you can contact me.
