My transmission temp gauge does not read. Where is the sensor to be found on the John Deere chasis?

Is there 12 volts going to it?

Is there a good ground?

As for the sender, some folks install it in to a pressure test port on the drivers side of the Ford trans case. Or it could be in the pan, often as a plug. Or it could be in one of the lines to or from the tranny cooler up front. Some RVs have a tranny fluid filter installed on the line from the trans to the cooler, with the sender in the filter base. Look for a spin off filter.

I also had, what I thought was a transmission temp gauge that did not work, always reading at low point of scale. One day in traffic down south in July, the gage did go up, so I guess that with the transmission oil cooler and normal weather and driving conditions, the transmission stays cool. I never did look for sender after that.

Hey, Jamie, did you locate the sender?

How did you fix the problem?

We learn from each other here.
