Some time ago we discussed moving the chassis battery inside the coach or inside a storage bin to make room for an extra coach battery in the battery rack.

I know we discussed the sealed Optima batteries, and a vented battery box.

Today while fumbling on the Jags, I realized that the XJS has a #47 battery that is equipped with vent tubes that vent the hydrogen and acid fumes outside through small tubes. I believe I will put my chassis battery in a storage bin to make room for another pair of GC batteries in the tray. Both Sams and Costco have them.

When my coach batteries need replacing I am going to move to Golf Cart batteries. I lived on them on my sailboat, and as long as you have good charging they will give great service. They outlasted 8Ds by a longshot!

When I switched from 8D to golf cart, the best info seemed to agree that the best for the money was L16s, then GCs. Nothing I have learned since would contradict that.
GCs have a size and availability advantage, though. L16s are just tall GCs as far as size goes.
