Don in NiagaraEntrance door problem
Searched for this because I thought I'd read about it before but to no avail, so here it is again.
Went out to check out the Barth after the blizzard had subsided and found a small snow drift inside on the steps and behind the recliner by the door. It appears that the door is warped at the top corner so it doesn't close tight up there. It seems tightly closed around the rest of the door and it locks up fine.
Hard to get a good look from the inside because the screen door is in the way. On the step-ladder, in the dark, with a freezing cold wind blowing, I can see the top part of the door has about a 3/8th inch gap showing between the door and the jamb.
If it gets benign enough out there today to be able to work I will see if the door mounting system is loose or snafu.
Until then, anyone had the problem and able to re-align the door for a tight fit??
Thanks
Don

Gary CarterIt could be as simple as the hinge is worn. On mine I cut some washers and inserted them to raise the door.
My door got warped out-of-plane by a violent swing in high winds....Most of it came back by playing around with a couple of 2x4-4', some shims and a bar clamp....For final tweak, I reset hinges, using new pilot holes for hinge leaf and door jamb (also up-sized sheet metal screws).
It may also require re-tweaking latch striker & deadbolt receiver.....Not difficult, for someone with patience
