I am a new owner of a great 91 Breakaway, purchased it from an estate,so was unable to get any coaching from previous owner.I have been able to trace most of the unique items down myself, but am now getting lazy.
Can someone tell me what switch or how the larger pair of rear bumper mounted lights are turned on.I am able to energize them by depressing manually, relay # 3 in the left front electrical compatrment,so they do work.I have some badly water stained schematics, but am unable to determine what switch pulls this relay in.If anyone knows what switch pulls this relay in,it will save me a lot of manual wire tracing.
The backup lights in the tailight assembly work just fine when the transmission is in reverse.I have seen reference to Camera and Docking lights, are these in reference to the 2 bumper mounted lights?
Thanks in advance for any advice you may have, for a northern Canuck, and many thanks to Dave for this very helpfull site.

Aviator,

Welcome to the world of Barth as we know it. Your one stop resource for all things Barth (and some things not). Tell us more about your Breakaway.

On my 92 Regency, the rear mounted bumper lights are also back up lights and come on when in reverse, as do the ones in the regular tail lights.

Ditto on my 93 Breakaway. The docking lights are on the side. The big backup lights & camera come on when shifting into reverse.

Thanks Bill and Eric, for your response.I thank you for informing me that docking lights are the side lights, they are turned on by the 2 patio light switches above the mid-entry door on this model.
On my poor schematic, the big backup lights are refered to as "camera Lights".By depressing relay #3 in this coach,I now have regular backup lights, the large bumper lights(camera lights) as well as an beeping backup alarm.I have jumpered the transmission pressure sw,so next shall venture into the dash as I expect that the relay #3 is pulled in from a sourse sw on the transmission shift switch.
But being a second owner, you never know what enginering may have been done before.

Aviator,

Apparently, Barth created their own switch for the back up lights, monitor, etc. My back up monitor comes on when shifted into reverse, but not always. I have replaced the switch on the tranny, but it did not improve performance. The monitor always comes on if I manually turn it on, so the problem is not great, just frustrating. I like everything to work all the time.
