When I first got the coach, I gave Spartan my VIN# and asked them to send any info they had. I got a diagram of the front Eaton axle which I used for the front end parts. I also got a diagram for a Dana rear axle but it was not correct. (It showed disk brakes, mine are drums!) So much for factory support...

Inspection reveals a rear axle data plate indicating it is also an Eaton axle- Model 19050S with 4.63 ratio.

I did get the rear brakes replaced. We installed new brake drums, shoes and rear axle seals on both sides. The shop sourced the parts so I am not sure who the manufacturers were.

Brake drums: DB1657B
Brake shoe kit: RK4311EPR23
Seal: 393-0112

I gave up most of the chassis work when I got the Monarch. Can't change tires, too heavy, too much torque, same for brakes and front end.

Oil change is 24 qts! Where to even drain that much?

I still do some engine maintenance, appliances, electrical and upgrades but very little chassis work. I have a good truck mechanic, he and my checkbook can fix anything! Mechanic Superman

Have Barth, will travel Tooling Along

PhotoBucket is now down. Won't accept new photos or display them for linking. Only the old ones still work. head bang

PB is a complete PITA. When/if it starts working again I will try to get things caught up here. I have several REALLY nice photos from Tim in Denmark, working on his class C, I would like to get here. Deadhorse
