I am having a problem with the exuast manifolds heating up to the point of glowing red, burning out my sparkplug boots, and frying my starter. I heard that it might be that my glass packs are burned out and not giving the exuast enough back pressure, can you give me any advice?

Thankyou,
David Green

David--- Along with the Barth, I also have a 1978 GMC ROYALE, front wheel drive with a 403 Olds engine. In liew of a Banks system (headers) etc. I had heat louvers installed on each side of the unit... where the heat from the engine can escape. This has done the trick, the heat really has a place to escape. Should you desire more info/pics please let me know.
