I also just purchased a 1985 Barth Regal. It just arrived from Ohio today. Initial projects will be replacing coach batteries, replacing step motor, and addressing window gaskets. Does anyone have suggestions for sourcing step motor and/or window gaskets?

2 Barths? cool Thumbs Up

Search the site for Kwickee steps. I think they used a Ford electric window motor. Often times they just need TLC.. clean and grease the mechanism. Before you replace anything be sure to check the wiring connections, they are notorious for problems.

The steps on my 87 Regal have been spooky lately. I'll have to follow my own advice soon. I also want to improve the window gaskets. I think they were made by the Hehr company. I will be looking soon. good luck!

I did not buy 2 Regals, another poster mentioned his new purchase of an 85.

Since I bought the coach remotely, the RV shop who inspected it for me addressed some electrical issues for me before its trip home. They indicated the step motor may have been wired wrong as it showed signs of burns.

Congrats on your new coach. Being a coach that sat for a spell you'll most likley have a few things to do on it.Winter comming. Frowner My suggestion is load it up and go enjoy it. That will give you a lot of info on what you'll want to work on first.
