I have 8 55 watt panels on our roof. Riveted them to the the frame. You can figure out where the frame is located. Have had them on a couple of years now. They are laying flat which is not the best for winter, but we only use the Barth in the summer with over head sun. Have experienced no problems. Ran the wire down the refrigerator exhaust. I have 3 solar panels on the roof. They were on DBarth when I got it. I am in need of a new controller. My wires are run in thru the air conditioner. The original small panel already had been run there and to the controller. They are simply installed flat on aluminum angles provided with the panels as I have the original paperwork. They were installed as a complete system replacing the original controller. The Prosine unit also installed by the Solar company. There are some friends of mine that are "techno nerds" that have a blog that covers all kinds of hi tech stuff. Right now they are real life testing solar panels. Google Technomadia and enjoy!

I have done some research as my '95 Barth came with a 30A Solar system installed from the factory, and I am replacing the Charge/Controller with a Blue Sky SB3000i unit that is an MPPT unit that has got great reviews. The MPPT unit will allow for higher voltage panels, and provides more control for charging and running small items. Another item that I was told to do was to install a 30/40 amp breaker on the battery positive that goes to the charge controller. Right now the fuse is on the panel...good idea! I will also replace my Heart (mod sine wave)inverter with the Magnum Energy MS2812 inverter that has better charging and is a true sine wave unit. I will also install the SB3000i on my Car Trailer also, and will buy two (2) of the large high voltage panels for it. I don't do much dry-dock camping, but just want the solar system for a back-up system if I do. I also do not know which brand of panels, but would like some suggestions on HV ones... Mark
