There is guy in Canada that fixes the cameras-$200+. There is RV Cameras in Louisiana the has a replacement Camera from Voyager for about $187 with the adapter cable. Which is a better choice? Louisiana will check and make sure the old camera on is shot if I send it to them. Canada will charge 75 even if the camera is okay.

I guess I question spending any real money on an old, outdated piece of add-in electronics. A quick view of EBay brought up this 7"In Dash Car CD DVD Player GPS&FREE MAP&BACK UP CAMERA http://cgi.ebay.com/7-In-Dash-...&hash=item2562484efa
for $279. Sometimes fixing doesn't make sense. Additionally, you risk that is not the thing you fixed and throw it away anyway.

Dang Corey how did you find that? It looks like that will do everything but give you a back massage and wipe your nose. My thought was the monitor was working, the wiring cables are in place. I had done a search and seemed everything was 6 or $700 for a set. Must have looked wrong. I will research some more. Not sure i like all the things it does one goes they all go??

I still think the Rear View Safety system from Costco is a tremendous value for just under $200. I just bought their budget version on sale for just under $70.

Dana, My backup camera was also inoperative... We tried to diagnose it but only succeeded in blowing out another monitor as the old ones power was WAY to much for the newer one we tried... I ended up getting one "probably alot like the one MD likes" and the installation turned out well... here is a couple of pics of the installed (new age) monitor...

PS Thats my garage behind the Barth on the monitor

And here is one of the camera installation...

I decided to use the original mount for the new camera... We took a backup light lens from a truck and cut it down to fit into the existing housing then drilled a 3/4" hole in the center to mount the new camera, and just glued the lens into the existing housing.... We also used all existing wiring which simplified things greatly....

Way to go, Patch.
wish I had existing wiring to use. In as much as the Yales ordered the coach with a rear window, they did not get a backup camera. Another thing they did not get (but I wish they had) was the typical chrome fans in the corners of the WS.

By the way, where in MI are you?

What camera did you have before? You were able to use the existing wires to the camera? Where did you get adapters. I was figuring the 17 year old wire may have its casing deteriorating. I have ordered a new camera system via Amazon. If I could save running the video cable it would go much faster. Nice ,it looks like you did a great job!

My coach came with the b-up camera that was installed by Barth... I contacted the company who made them and they are now about 4k and they sell them to the military, BUT at least they are now waterproof and still compatible.... LOL
I believe there were like 17 wires in that harness.... I think we only used bout 4 of them.... As far as the harness, we used what was there, and a soldering iron for the harness adaptor.. Good luck with yours....
