power source battery charger
I have a couple of stupid qestions. Today I found out my converter is not working and reason my batteries are dying a slow death. I have a "power source" brand 75 amp and I can see some online at around 165.00 but my local guy wants to put an 80amp in for 497.00 says I can go up but not down. I am kinda new to the rv world and would like some input. Is Iota a good brand or no. Would it actually hurt to go up? or would it be best to replace with what I have in amps. The second rv place quoted me 680.00 for a 75 amp charger. wow what a difference

Yes, Iota is a good brand. I use a DLS75-IQ, and have been happy for years. But, you might not need one that big.

Some of the answers will depend on your batteries and your usage.

What is your battery bank?

Do you charge the batteries by your genset, alternator, or park power?

How low do you discharge the batteries daily?

I use a Schumacher battery maintainer ~$35(similar to a Battery Tender) which keeps the batteries topped off when not in use.
