In 1998, Barth made only one model line of diesels. They were the MX series, and only for that model year. The 40ft model had a 400hp cummins (M11) engine. The shorter models had 325/915 hp/torque cummins 8.3. There is a MX36XL for sale here on the site with a 1996 chassis and 300/820 hp/torque engine. Does anyone know how many MX's were sold? Were they all mountain master (MM) chassis? The 400hp certainly was (it was a K2). The MM chassis from 1997 were independent front suspension, and the ISC electronic 8.3 cummins was also produced from 1997 onward. Did any of the MX's have IFS and the ISC, or were older chassis being used as production ended? The MX's were quite a bit less expensive than earlier Barth's, but they may have still used good mechanicals. I realize this is a technical question, but if someone knows something about an MX, I would appreciate hearing from you. Tom

It is rumored that Lee Merriman (sp?), current president of the Barth Rangers has all of the remaining records of the Barth company. If it's true, then he would have the records that you need and I would expect him to be able to answer the question. He has been an infrequent visiter to this site in the past. If someone knows how to reach Lee, perhaps they could post it here and you could contact him. Good Luck
