I would like the collective help of this group to understand experiences with replacement water pumps installed in their coach.
After reviewing old posts, I have not found a clear answer to the following questions. When replacing the “house” (in the coach) water pump, what flow rate and pressure ranges should be considered? Which units have you installed (had installed)? Where you satisfied with the new pump performance relative to a pressure and flow for a shower or just general usage? Where you satisfied with the noise level? Where there any “challenges” during installation? Where did you find the best prices?
Understanding your experiences would be would be greatly appreciated too.

Hi,

I still follow this forum, even though I love Barths I ended up with a unique (one of only 14
built on the Oshkosh AllSteer four wheel steering
chassis) Winnebago.
When my pump went out the best deal I could find
at the moment and on the spot was the Flojet "Quiet Quad II" pump which at 35psi was a little lower output than the original but the performance was basically the same, with both the shower would pulse just a little bit. I later added a Flojet "Mini-Accumulator" to the system and solved the pulsing problem. Strangely the Flojet literature says not to use an accumulator with the quiet quad as it does not need it, but it definately improved the system performance for me. A Google search will find you a good deal on these items as they are inexpensive.

My most recent purchase was a SHURflo 2088-422-444 2.8 Classic from Amazon. A month ago, that was the best price out there. On receiving it, I discovered it pumps the same amount of water as my old one, which lasted well beyond its 20 year warranty. Actually, the old one is still good, and was replaced only because of a misdiagnosis by a family member. It also uses over twice the electricity. It is assembled in Mexico of Chinese parts, so I don't expect it to last much longer than its 2 yr limited warranty....If that.

On the positive side, it works fine, and does not hammer as badly if it pumps dry like the previous one did, and is quieter, due to its all plastic construction.

If I had to do it over, I would try to buy American.

I replaced our shur-flow with an aqua-jet. The aqua-jet will handle up to 80psi. We have a built in RO system and the higher pressure works better with it.

The PO replaced mine with a Shur-Flo Smart Sensor. I like the quiet, variable-speed operation.

Thank you to everyone. I went with Rusty's recommendation. It should be here by the weekend.

Follow up on the pump. It’s installed but it was an interesting challenge. It’s under the closet floor, which required minor contortionist movement. It is fairly quiet and seems to provide a good pressure. New pump had only 2 leads while the old pump had 4 fasts- on connectors. It took a little sleuthing with a Volt Ohm meter to figure out the circuits. Thank you for your input on this topic.
