Here's an email I just sent to the Sales Manger at a small US electronics manufacturer complaining of an inane policy designed only to drive more jobs from the US.

We'll see if he responds in the week I've requested and maybe there is a happy ending. I sure don't mind paying reasonable fees for things, but this was just ridiculous.

Scott,

My name is Corey Noble and I own a 2000 BlueBird Wanderlodge motor-coach. I recently troubleshot shot an LED panel light issue to a part you folks make at ERG Inc. I realize that low run parts can be expensive and expected the part might run me $20 or $30. The part is a small LED inverter part number 20292196. Imagine my surprise when I was told it didn't matter what the retail was, ERG has a minimum $100 order requirement. Of course, I asked for a distributor and was told only ERG could service me.

I'm all for minimum orders when protecting distributors, but this policy seems harsh when you have a low dollar item that is used in a consumer application. I'm giving you a chance to respond before I begin posting my experience on the many motor-coach boards I belong to. I hope that you can find a way to better service me and will look for a response within the week.

Very sincerely,

Corey Noble

Corey, how many can you get for the minimum charge? If you can get a few for the minimum price, you may be able to sell the extras and recoup some of the expenses.
