Brake light problem

Brake light problem
Jen and I just bought a 79 Barth 21' and love it. One problem, when the brakes are applied , the brake light on the passenger side comes on and the tail light goes off. Any suggestions??? Thanks for any help...joe...

This is typically a symptom of a bad ground, or sometimes a bad bulb.
