442johnJUST BOUGHT 1988 BARTH 31' DIESEL!
It's a 1988 Regency 31' 8.3 Cummins diesel! Needs Batteries, tires, fuel filters, oil and filter and.....? Any suggestions on any of these things? I'm firm believer of synthetic oil but wondering what weight and how much she takes. Fuel filters and?? Very excited, she's sat for a while. Tires are 255/80R 22.5. Also needing the center covers for Alcoa Aluminum wheels. Expecting to pump some money into her to get her safe for travel and get her home to Knoxville. Coach is in the Blountville, TN in are of Johnson City, Bristol, and Kingsport are any good tire shops? Looking forward to learning about this coach and being active with forum. Was coach #2149 Barth Rangers. Blessing

KevinJohn, It appears you have an early Regency with a Cummins. Many had Detroit fuel pinchers. Could you please post a picture of the Data Tag found behind the curtain on the driver side. We can tell you more from the Data Tag.

442johnI'll post pictures of data tag when I actually get back to her, she needs tires badly, not dry rotted too badly that I saw, but 11 years old! What Tires you all recommend? I've always used Michelin but have heard some bad things lately and some are recommending Toyos, Hancook, or Contenital?

KevinFMCA or Family RV now has a nice tire purchase program. If you are not a member and want to join, send me a private message. I get a feather in my hat if you become a member. If you know the sizes, I would be able to get you FMCA prices for comparison. There are other benefits to Family RV.
I personally prefer Michelin or Continental.

442johnFunny Kevin I can't seem to get to shoot you a private message, newbie here. Tire size on Rear are 255/65 80R 22.5.

Nick CagleWhen I bought my 93 Regency it had those 255/65/ 80r 22.5 tires on it. In my opinion those tires are entirely wrong for that coach. Way too low of profile. Check the data tag for the size that came on it from the factory. Probably something like 275/75 80R 22.5. I don't remember but you will much happier with a 70 or 75 ratio tire.

442johnHopefully I'll get the data tag, I'd like to make sure I get the right tires on order. Wanting to get her home but concerned about tire safety.

KlareellisWhen I bought my 83 regency, it had been sitting probably 10 years. Tires were "new" but 14yrs old. I too was worried about tire safety but put 100 pounds in them and made it the 102 miles home. Not saying that was wise, but I did it anyway. I took the back roads.

KevinJohn, your data tag should look similar to this
The number at the top will enable us to tell you when your Barth was built, the consecutive build number and your floor plan.
You now have the tire size that belongs on your Barth.
This is a data tag from our home page.
