My Barth 28' with Oshkosh chasis and ford 460 has a problem with the tranny brake locking up since I bought it. The actual brake ahs been repalced as well as the brake pump. Also hoses have been replaced. I have been stranded at times and wonder if this is a common problem and what to do with it?

I have this set up on my 1991 Barth 460 Oshkosh and found that the pivot from the drum to the booster cable was sticking.

Hi,
The Deere/Oshkosh chassis comes in three models the 800 1000 and 1200.
The 800 has a manual parking brake like anyone would expect. The others have a hydroboost powered drive line brake system. It requires full hydraulic pressure from the hydroboost pump (like a power steering pump) and the transmission selector to be NOT in Park. The other components in the system other than the brake itself are a hydraulic actuator, and a hydraulic relay valve.
I have the Deere (same as Oshkosh) Chassis Manual, and can copy and fax (to an 800 number) or up load to a web site the pages that describe this, for you if you’re interested.
