I may have missed the answer from a previous post, so bear with me a bit. My 28' has a large black-water tank directly under the shower (rear bath) and "throne". The shower, wash basin and throne are all plumbed into this tank, Only the kitchen sink empties into the front grey-water holding tank. Is this common with Barth coaches? Everyone that I have questioned think the grey tank should receive bath water runoff. Now, the rear holding tank is larger, but after a couple of days (four showers max) it is full. Makes for some fancy foot work when she tops off unexpectedly. I managed to park with the rear about 2" lower than the front last trip and found out the level indicators stopped at 2/3 with a completely full (on this angle) holding tank.

I had hoped to find the grey tank to be larger and re-route the shower plumbing but the black appears to be at least 20% larger than the grey.

Suggestions? Comments? Learn to live with it?? Thanks in advance.

Hi Ron,

Mine is that way. (85 28 ft Regal with center twins and rear bath). I wish the black and brown were hooked into the same valve at least. I think the water volume in the black really keeps the sensors clean.

I suppose live with it is the best advise.

OK, thanks guys. I was beginning to think the factory had plumbed this one wrong with the specific intent of getting my panties in a wad 20-years later!

Now for the really tough question (not really expecting an answer): how do you convince your wife that she doesn't HAVE to turn on the water full-blast the entire time she is showering? :-)

Ron,

Trying to be delicate here, we have the kind of spray handle that has the button on it so water is only on when rinsing.

My coach sits next to my house and I have electricity, Cable, Phone and Water to it all the time. So when we have guest or my daughter has a sleepover they all want to stay in the Barthmobile.

Well we had a female guest visit us for just friday and saturday night. I went out and made sure that all tanks were absolutely empty. Well by the time she left Sunday morning both the black and gray were to the max. I don't even want to know!!!!!

I begining to think each one is different. My 1980 35'tag has a larger black tank under the comode and vanity housing only waste from the toilet. The gray tank is smaller and located on the oppisite side of the coach receiving both sinks and shower. This would be fine except where the tanks are positioned the grey drain couldn't be merged with the black because of the axels. What a pain. Another project moving the grey tank to the center replacing it with a larger one also giving me some room for basment storage. Does anyone know of any reason why the tank should not be placed under the center?

I let my wife empty the tanks and clean them "ONCE", that sold her on conserving the water.

Well thought I might as well throw my 1978, 34 foot with tag in. The black water tank which is about halfway down on the side takes the shower, sink, and toilet. The kitchen sink which is opposite the bathroom goes to the grey water tank at the far rear of the coach between the frame. It is a real joy to empty as you have lay on the ground and reach up and under the hook up. The black water tank has a door on the side and is not bad. After reading the differnet posts is would seem that tank placement was pretty much flavor of the day.
