Anticipating the '90 Breakaway being here in a few weeks, need to think about the electrical hookup in my garage. I have the 85 Regal(30 AMP) hooked up to a 30 Amp outlet but only use it to run the Intellipower 9100 converter to keep the house batteries charged. The 91 Breakaway is a 50 AMP coach but all I want to do is power up it's 75 Amp converter. Can I step the 50 AMP cord all the way down to a standard 20 Amp outlet? I've tried to find out what a 75 Amp converter draws but haven't been able to find it on the Progressive Dynamics web site. Thanks Jim

You can plug into a 15 amp with no problem. The charger should not pull more than about 8 amps. 75/12=6.25 amps at 120volt. '92 Barth Breakaway - 30' 5.9 Cummins (6B) 300+ HP 2000 Allison Front entrance

As Gary said, you can drop all the way down to a standard 15 amp receptacle. They are like I I over ground. 20 amp 110V is kinda like I + over ground. What you should not do is drop current by using extension cord. When I did that, the roof AC would trip the house 15A circuit. In my Barth I carried a 50/30 puck and a 30/15 puck.

When you use a 50/30 'puck', do you end up with 30 amps to one side of your breaker panel, or 15 amps to each side of your breaker panel? Jim

The 30amp is directed to both legs, so you get a total of 30amps. Could pull 25 on on leg and 5 on the other. '92 Barth Breakaway - 30' 5.9 Cummins (6B) 300+ HP 2000 Allison Front entrance
