Just wondering has anyone had to replace there fan clutch on the older (1979) 454? I am redoing the entire cooling system on mine and can not come up with any good info on fan clutches. I have ordered a flowkooler waterpump and robertshaw high flow thermostat.The Radiator I had recored (Quite Expensive i may add)and ordered the radiator paint from eastwood. The only thing I find is to use original delco which is fine with me but I can not locate a part #. Nothing But The Best For The Barth You Know!!!!!! Any Ideas? Have it for sale because I may be relocating to north carolina and will not be able to take it with me., but I want whoever gets it to have the best one they can possibly have.Thanks Richard

Have you tried your friendly local NAPA store? They, or any other professional parts house should be able to help you with just the knowledge of the year, make, engine displacement, & the fact that it's in a P30 truck chassis.

Just wondering what "Quite expensive" is. I believe I payed just over 400 for a lifetime guarantee recore. That's pulling and putting it back in myself, which was a major job.
If you find a good fan that doesn't howl at the moon when it kicks in, let us know about it.

Mine was 500.00 so maybe that is not bad and yes it quite a chore to replace. I am sandblasting all the brackets and repainting them while they are out. I will let you know which fan I end up with Thanks Richard

I would recommend you install an electric fan and just remove the clutch and mechanical fan. It will run quieter, pull or push more air, and has a built in thermostat so it only runs when required. They are about $110, and yes, at NAPA.
