I was cruising down the road and was wondering if you could run the generator while at freeway speeds. I tried it. It works but I didn't know if I am causing a problem by doing this?

Seems like it should be ok to do. That way if I am driving and someone wants to use the Microwave, TV etc. they can.

Living in the heat of the deep south, we run the generator most of the summer while on the road. The roof top A/C's are needed to cool the coach cabin. Never had a problem and have probably driven over 25,000 miles with the generator running.

The only problem I ever had was vapor lock in 100+ temps. I relocated the pump outside the genset compartment and ran a higher pressure, with a regulator right at the carb inlet.

We use the generator to run the A/C and the fr idge going down the road. Keeps the coach cooler than just dash air.
Exercise is good for your genset but always have a load on it when running longer times.
