Hadley Air horns keep blowing fuses. Runs for a minute and then blows fuse. What would cause the motor to pull more current. Before I pull the compressor off, is it worth rebuilding ? I see they have a kit on the Hadley web site which I would prefer if possible as a new compressor was pretty expensive at $182.00 Any thoughts Thanks Ray 1990 28' Barth - John Deere/Oshkosh chassis with 460 Ford

What is the current draw of the compressor? Does it get hot? If so, does the motor or the compressor get hot? What fuse are you using? What is the output pressure? Is the wiring heavy enough? Is there a good ground? I would start out by direct wiring with test leads to a battery with an ammeter in series. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

Bill, What is the current draw of the compressor? at least 30a. Does it get hot? Does not run long enough to get hot If so, does the motor or the compressor get hot? Dont know What fuse are you using? Was 20A, I tried a 30 A and it blew too. What is the output pressure? I do not have a gauge but it was close to 0 as there was not enought air in the horn to sound it. Is the wiring heavy enough? Yes, Looks like 10ga and compressor has been working fine before this. Is there a good ground? Yes. Not sure how that would increase my current??? I would start out by direct wiring with test leads to a battery with an ammeter in series... Ok, I will try that. I know it is more than 30 Amps though. 1990 28' Barth - John Deere/Oshkosh chassis with 460 Ford
