my amp gauge was only showing 11 amp charge so i started checking things out. found that the belts were just turning on the pulley and it was stuck. got a breaker bar and broke a fin. got a pipe wrench with leverage and broke the pulley loose. now i'm back at around a 13.5 amp charge. i've never had any alt. problems in the past. what should i expect? any ideas. coach has sat all winter but i did start it about once a month. just noticed it not charging this past week. i did drive it about 5 miles like that to get propane. propane was full by the way when i parked it. filled late last fall at flying J. found out that they left a bleeder valve open when they filled it and it all leaked out. haven't taken it out on the highway since i fixed (maybe) this problem.

Sounds like you should have your alternator re-built... I have the same vintage rig. Mine was charging but the thrust bearings were going... the fins on the pulley would scrape against the housing, making a terrible squeal! If it's stock it's a 100 Amp leece-neville... or at least mine was. I had mine re-built and bumped up to 130 amp for $195.00. They did a great job. "Bilt-Rite Auto Electric", a Father & Son operation, in Plainville, Connecticut, did the work. Good people.
