This is sort of a silly question, but then again, I don't want to screw up something that is not broken. When we bought our Barth, the owner told us that a rear air conditioner had been added, but since it's a 30 amp Barth, we could only run both at the same time if we use the generator to run the one in the rear. Question is this: Should the transfer switch be on shore power or generator? My guess is 'shore'. And the other question is the switch that is for 'front and rear' air conditioner, should it be on 'rear' or 'front'? I could fire up the generator and find out, but I don't want to blow something up in the process. Thanks Jim

What size is your genset? What size are the wires going from the genset to the shore/gen and front/rear switches? . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

I don't know how your wiring is arranged and it seems all Barths are different! On mine if I fire up the generator, after a slight time delay, the entire coach is now on generator power, no matter if the shore poser is on or not. The transfer switch selects between shore power and generator power. Because it was added I can't say where the second units was hooked up. I have run both my A/C when hooked to shore power 30 amps Ed 94 30' Breakaway #3864 30-BS-6B side entry New Cummins 5.9L, 375+ HP Allison 6 speed Spartan chassis K9DVC Tankless water heater

Each A/C probably pulls around 12.5A for the compressor, 2A for the fan on low speed. Close but doable on 30A.
