Have any one of you ever run the wiring for a solar panel on the roof? I was at a wooden boat festival this weekend and there was a booth that had some great looking solar panels. Pretty pricey. The one that looked the best was $550. I'm trying to figure out how to run the wiring through the wall and down to the battery compartment. Can I tap into the 12 volt wiring just any where and get the job done? Dennis

I ran mine down the fridge air shaft to the controller, which is mounted in a cabinet wall nearby, then underneath to the batteries..

You could use existing wiring, but it is unlikely to be heavy enough to avoid unwanted voltage drop.
