What is the best way to remove outside paint?

Back in the 90s we had converted an GM4106. All aluminum. What I did was go to the hardware store and buy the cheapest paint remover they had. Then using an old paint sprayer I used that to apply. Let it set and do its thing and then using a pressure washer, blasted the stuff off.
