Many Barth owners know the windshield glass carries an i.d. of W130 and W131 and that it was used on an early 1980's GMC Cabover trucks. We just discovered it is also original equipment on 1950 and 1951 Buick Coupe and Sedans. They are two panels, left and right on the Euro and our '93 Regency wide body. A flat 6" piece goes in the center for the 102" wide coach. I am also confused but the vendor lists the windshields as W130 and W131 that are the exact description of those on the Euro and our Regency. When I replaced one side of the Regency in 2012 Binswanger Glass installed these same ones. Sitting side by side they are identical. As to the Buick in 1950 I have not seen one but they say these are original equipment and are available. I will be replacing the Euros so we shall see. Good luck with the replacements! Having sold the Regal I don't need them any more but it is good to know they are still around. I was going to replace them on the 86, ordered and got the pass side for about $200 a couple years back. I gave it to Alan when he bought the coach. Did you find a source for the rubber gasket? Belay my last! Rusty knows what that means. I called the advertiser and learned that the glass industry reuses the standard descriptors for windshields about every ten years. So the W130 and W131 that described the 1950 cars was reused in 1980 for a completely different glass. I ordered the 1975-85 Chevrolet/GMC Astro Truck (not van). Both are available (at least here in Texas) for $278.50 plus tax each. My local glass guy did the windshields in my 85 regal and yes the molded gasket is pricey. I think I paid about the same cost. I had to do alot of prep work before I had them replaced. Getting ready to do it all over again in the 86 I got from Steve. | ||||

when we bought our 1998 Barth last year....the windshield had just been replaced. On our cross country trip to bring the Barth home we encountered heavy rains. The windshield leaked to the inside in a steady stream. It seams as if the seal is not correct. We have the center wide glass that is original. we called the company about it and they said, "sorry, warranty is for original owner who had the work done." We did a quick fix with duck tape.......an estimate to "reseat" the windshield was $1200!! Any suggestions out there? | ||||

I had a hard time finding a gasket for my '77. Ended up spending $450 from RVglassspecialists. The first installer shredded the rubber. New installers got the drivers side in but had issues with the passenger lower corner, They put the glass inside with the curve downhill I fixed that and I stepped on it and broke it! $700 for a new piece shipped from the same company . Had it installed this morning and am almost happy with the job. :-(. The new steel top support, shelf and flange that hold the glass was perfect thanks to my talented fabricator. About $2500 later, I now have windshields back in and regret not putting new in the drivers side too but it would have been another $450. Crossing my fingers it doesn't leak after I let it cure a few days. | |||
