I finally found an affordable bike lift on Craig'sList. It is an Overbilt lift with the electric winch option as well as the remote center hitch. With this style hitch/lift I can now bring my bike and also flat tow at the same time. Although I have a trailer, this now gives me many more options and I will always bring my bike along as there is no consequence. Here I am cutting slots in my bumper with Tom the mobile welder supervising. He looks and sounds like Larry The Cable Guy. ![]() Here with bike on it. ![]() ![]() ![]() The last picture shows it down, but is someone else's hitch. ![]() ![]() Formerly: 1997 Barth Monarch Now: 2000 BlueBird Wanderlodge 43' LXi Millennium Edition DD Series 60 500HP 3 stage Jake, Overbuilt bike lift with R1200GS BMW, followed by 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.”

Thanks Mary Ray. If diesel gets any more expensive I may need to get a lift for the bike and put the Blue Bird on it! ![]() Formerly: 1997 Barth Monarch Now: 2000 BlueBird Wanderlodge 43' LXi Millennium Edition DD Series 60 500HP 3 stage Jake, Overbuilt bike lift with R1200GS BMW, followed by 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.”

Nice rack, making sure the bike stays there is also of interest; here is a good article on how to tie down a BMW telelever, that what I use for mine plus another one at the rear wheel. http://www.grassrootsbmw.com/uploads/Tiedown2.pdf Michel

Nice article Michel. I've been doing it wrong then as I always used the handlebars as I've done with all my bikes. I'm fortunate that all my wheel chocks are the self capturing type and therefore I've never over-torqued. I'll start doing it like in this article now. It should actually make tying it down to the lift easier.
